Care & Share
Second Quarter: United Religious Community Advocacy Center
The United Religious Community provides assistance to St. Joseph County residents for certain basic needs, which are provided depending upon financial resources being available and verifiable needs.
Funding partners for URC’s Advocacy Center include:
Marin’s Super Markets “Heat for Homes” funding (for bills that help families to keep heat on via gas or electric bills)
United Way Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFS)
Donations from congregations and individual donors for Advocacy Center needs
Funding is available for heating (generally not to exceed 25% of one month’s billing for gas or electric, up to a cap amount), documentation help for birth certificates, and other kinds of documentation to help families with eligibility for housing assistance and other needs.
Care and Share contributions may be made using the Care and Share envelopes available on the information table outside the First Presbyterian Chapel or by choosing Care and Share through the Givelify app.

Heritage and Hope Campaign
Our renovation of Cathedral Hall is underway! But there is still more to do to complete our accessibility project at the Cathedral. More information to come early 2019 on a new campaign for Phase 2 of our building renovation.
Through the generous gift of an anonymous donor in 2016, the Cathedral of Saint James established an endowment fund through the Community Foundation of St. Joseph County. Contributions to the endowment fund can be made by clicking the link below, selecting “a favorite charity’s endowed fund” on the form, and choosing “Cathedral Church of St. James.”
