Stories of Resilience
Do you have a story about a time when the Cathedral of Saint James showed resilience? Or when God did something amazing here or was clearly present in this place? The Dove Faith Cafe invites you to tell your story in a special event at Trinity Church, Fort Wayne on the eve of Diocesan Convention. The submission deadline for your story idea is October 15. Speak with Fr. Brian if you have any questions.

Saint Francis Day Virtual Pet Blessings
It would, indeed, be much more fun and way better if we could bring our pets to Church on Sunday, October 4 to celebrate St. Francis Day. Here's the thing, though: at the moment we have to maintain certification for food service, which might very well possibly be jeopardized by bringing lots of animals into the same building where food is served. SO... a virtual pet blessing is the next best thing. Send your photos to csjphotosharing@gmail.com for inclusion in our slide show AND bring pet photos on your phone or other device (or printed if you want to be retro analog) for a virtual blessing.
Every Member Canvass
As I wrote several weeks ago, the Incarnation is God's sure and certain sign of Love's priority in establishing and maintaining relationships with humanity and all Creation. Following from that thought, the Cathedral Chapter invites all members and friends to participate in an every member canvass this fall. We are currently putting the finishing touches on prompts for conversations about experiences, hopes, and ideas for Cathedral life and ministry. More information will be coming soon.

Pray for all victims of gun violence, especially for those killed or injured in recent shootings and for their families and friends. Pray also for first responders and medical staff who care for them.
We pray for the repose of the souls of and offer prayers for the families of South Bend residents Vanessa Bautista and Alexa Navarro. Pray that God may surround their families, and especially their children, with peace, comfort, and hope.
We wish a g'mar chatima tovah (“good final sealing”) to our Jewish sisters and brothers as they observe the fast of Yom Kippur which begins at sundown on Sunday, the 20th and ends at nightfall on Monday, the 21st of September.
Pray for the victims, survivors, and rescuers in the aftermath of flooding and mudslides in China and Nepal; for victims of wildfires in Europe and North America; and for those devastated by earthquakes in Colombia and Venezuela.
For Canon Terri Bays as she enters a period of discernment as one of three candidates from which the recently formed Diocese of the Great Lakes will elect their first bishop. We pray for her, for her family, and for their diocese and our own as this process moves forward. Come, Holy Spirit!
For protection of the lives and livelihoods of immigrants and for the families and communities mourning the loss of their loved ones.
For an end to wars and for a lasting Peace in all regions of the world, especially in Iran, Gaza, and Ukraine.
