The Weekend of The Eighteenth Sunday after Pentecost
(Year C, Proper 23, Track 2)

The Dean's List
COVID is a Bear
Not a nice, fluffy one, either; a grumpy, grizzly one. I am happy to report, though, that while I am still prone to coughing fits and experiencing ongoing fatigue, today - Saturday - I am finally feeling pretty close to normal. Thank you so much for your prayers and concern.
Tell Out My Soul
There have been two principal casualties of the vagaries of life that have marked 2025:
A weeknight series of short courses for adults; and
The 2026 Annual Stewardship Campaign.
The former I will get to probably beginning in Advent. The latter is coming very soon to your mailbox and Sunday morning. I will be working with Chapter members Betsy VanderBurg and Erica Vitale to ask your ongoing support of the mission and ministry of the Cathedral of Saint James in our congregation and community. 2026 is going to be an exciting year for us as we host St. Margaret's House during their renovation and continue to imagine new ways to serve our congregation, community, and diocese.
Clean Up & Clean Out
A major piece of our preparation for St. Margaret's House's residency at the Cathedral involves organizing, storing, or getting rid of "stuff" - including some furniture - from shared spaces. The current date for SMH to begin moving to our space is December 1 so that they can be set up and ready to receive guests at CSJ beginning January 1. Soooo... we have roughly six weeks to get ready. The good news is that South Bend City Church has offered space to SMH to store anything they need to store, which includes our stuff. We just need to figure out in fairly short order what goes into the keep it, store it, give it away, and throw it away piles in the TOD, kitchen, utility room, library, youth rooms, and classrooms.
So, here's the plan.
Sort It & Label It Day

If you have a pulse and a willingness to lend a hand, please come on this day to help us move.
Blessings,
Brian
