The Weekend of the Fourth Sunday in Lent
March 30, 2025

The Dean's List

Passion Gospel Readers
Palm Sunday is coming up on April 13. We are seeking four readers at each service to take part in the Passion Gospel reading. Parts are assigned randomly and scripts are sent to each reader in advance. Please let me know if you are willing to read by sending an email here or you can speak with me, Deacon Anne, or Deacon Clay on Sunday morning.

Palm Sunday Procession
St. Patrick & St. Hedwig's Catholic Church has new pastoral leadership, so it took awhile for them to respond to our invitation to meet once again at the corner of W Washington and S Taylor Streets for a joint service of the Liturgy of the Palms followed by processions to our respective parishes. They're happy to join us for this annual ecumenical moment. Therefore... the Palm Sunday service will begin at 10 am at our rendezvous spot. And, as usual, the 8 am service will begin at 8 am, but this time in our new entry way. Possibly. If it's actually finished.

Story & Song Retreat
Last week's retreat was wonderful. I will say more about it and what comes next in next Friday's eConnections. Stay tuned!

These are good for 1,000 words each, right?

Last Saturday's amazing dinner at the Story & Song retreat came from Franky's Tacos and was delivered by none other than Franky himself! He was kind enough to pose for a selfie on the Cathedral steps with Kim Gray and me.

Tile was installed at in the new entrance this week (they're done now). Carpet comes next on the lower and upper levels.

The Dining Out group gathered at Ho Ping House in Roseland on Thursday evening. Good fortune and good friends were enjoyed by all!

Mike McCrea & Kirk Philippsen stop to pose in front of one of two new storage closets they are building in Cathedral Hall. Rick Hilliard and Dave Woods helped frame the other one on the other side yesterday.

Blessings,
Brian

There are still open dates for officiants and readers to lead the Daily Office. Click here to view the schedule and sign up. Click here for the readings and collects appointed for each service.

Living Matthew 25. This community-wide effort offers dozens of opportunities from a host of sponsors from which to pick and choose. The Living Matthew 25 schedule is available here and is posted at several places at the Cathedral of Saint James.

Lent Madness. This week we continue to vote in the Saintly Sixteen round as these notable disciples of Jesus vie for the "Golden Halo." Click here for the Lent Madness website.
