The Dean's List
Summer Camp Week
The Diocese of Northern Indiana Summer Camp gathers this week at Camp Alexander Mack in Milford, Indiana. Twenty-one Cathedral folks will be on hand for this extraordinary week on the shores of Lake Waubee. On top of that, Fr. Mark Hummell is celebrating the staff Eucharist on Pentecost morning.
Campers: Emilia Davis, Alaina Gray, Astrid Kallenberg, Bear Kallenberg, Zeke Kallenberg, Grace Liberatore, Leo Liberatore, Marie Liberatore, Ana Schenkel, and Leo Schenkel.
Team: Fr. Brian Grantz, Abby Gray, Ainsley Gray, Anne Gray, Daniel Kallenberg, Freddy Kallenberg, Jodi Kallenberg, Aubrey Schenkel, Erica Vitale, Aley Vitale-Richards, and Dom Vitale-Richards.
Please keep us in your prayers for a faith-, fun-, and friendship-filled week!
Shortcakes Letter & Tickets
Everyone on the Cathedral mailing list should receive the Shortcakes letter early next week. Included with this letter are 10 tickets which you are invited to a) buy; b) sell; or c) return, whichever best suits your circumstances. The letter also suggests many ways that people can get involved in this delicious fundraiser over the next two weeks. Please watch for it in your mailbox. And - if you don't receive it but should - please check with Joe Anand-Obleton to make sure you are on our mailing list.
The Mom Report
My mother is making slow but steady progress towards being fit enough to travel home to Delaware following her nasty knock on the noggin in Minnesota on May 24th. I spent last weekend helping get her settled in at a Transitional Care Unit in Shakopee, Minnesota. My once-sister-in-law, Jackie, who lives in Shakopee, has been wonderful about checking in on my mother and updating the family daily. My mother has a follow-up MRI and appointment with the neurosurgeon this coming Tuesday, so hopefully there will be some news about her prognosis and maybe - just maybe - a timeline for her return trip home.
Discretionary Tales
This past Wednesday, being the first Wednesday of the month, was Assistance Ministry Day at the Cathedral. Once again, there were at least fifty people waiting in line when I arrived at 7:30 am, several of whom had been there since 4 am.
This month, Al & Norris Whitfield piloted a boxed breakfast program, starting out with 50 meals which were distributed to those in line by Al and other Brotherhood of St. Andrew members Peter Christensen, Chris Gibson, and Ed Randles. This ministry was well received and much appreciated. For one man, it was the first time he had eaten in several days. The Brothers Andrew were also exceedingly helpful in managing the line and engaging with those awaiting assistance.
If you would like to be involved in any aspect of this ministry, please let me know. The next Assistance Day is Wednesday, July 2.

The Dining Out Group recently gathered for dinner at Moser's in New Carlisle. A good time was apparently had by all!

The Collect for Pentecost
Almighty God, on this day you opened the way of eternal life to every race and nation by the promised gift of your Holy Spirit: Shed abroad this gift throughout the world by the preaching of the Gospel, that it may reach to the ends of the earth; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
